Bonus Space is a blog/website that provides inspiration for home improvement and DIY projects, that are focused on space optimization and functionality. This blog is written solely from Melanie’s perspective, and contains her own opinion(s).

Comments

This website/blog is a forum for collaboration, sharing information, and building community. It’s a place where people can come together to provide support, encouragement, and discuss or share creative ideas with one another. Kind comments and valid constructive criticism are welcome. However, if you’re a troll leaving nasty comments, make personal attacks towards the author (Melanie), and/or blog commenters, your comment(s) will be deleted. Melanie reserves the right to edit, or delete any comment(s) posted on The Bonus Space. All comments with the intent to advertise, spam or solicit views not sponsored, or affiliated with The Bonus Space will also be deleted. Melanie reserves the right to block commenter(s) who have previously published rude or offensive comments, and/or spam on The Bonus Space, or any other website.

Featured Guest Submissions

If you’re interested in having your DIY or home improvement project featured on The Bonus Space, your submission will first be considered and reviewed for original content. Guest entries must not be published previously on other blogs, or online magazine(s). If you previously submitted your article to other sites, but it has yet to be published, please indicate that fact in your submission.

Guest submissions must be educational, and encouraging.  The topic should be related to DIY, design, or home improvement, and filled with practical tips and/or a helpful tutorial. Your entry may be edited for grammar or tone, in order to tailor to the style of this blog. However, your submission will not be edited to the point where your ideas and personality are no longer present in the writing. Guest posts should be at least 200 words, and include several high-quality photographs with links properly crediting sources if necessary. Affiliate links are not allowed. You may end your guest entry with a brief biography, and links to your portfolio, social media, website and/or blog. Any article written solely for the purpose of attaching a link for SEO purposes, or product sales that Melanie does not consider beneficial for The Bonus Space readership, will be rejected. Note, your featured post may not be published for a variety of reasons. This includes, but is not limited to: The guest submission is overly self-promoting, found to contain non-original content, was submitted solely for SEO/affiliate links, the topic has already been covered on this blog, the submission does not fit with this blog’s theme, or Melanie’s current posting schedule is already booked.

Any submissions that do not meet all the requirements as listed above in this section will also be rejected. If Melanie decides not to publish your guest submission for any reason (such as any listed above, or otherwise), she will contact you directly to let you know your submission was not accepted.  At such point, you may choose to post your entry to your own blog, or submit it to other site(s), or magazines (etc.) to be published.

Any sponsoring advertisement(s) will appear on the sidebar of The Bonus Space.  All sponsorship and advertisement featured on this site are businesses or products personally endorsed by Melanie based on their quality of services and/or merchandise. Advertisers featured on The Bonus Space pay a monthly rate to appear on this website. All future or potential sponsorship inquiries that are interested in advertising and/or sponsored posts on The Bonus Space should contact Melanie directly via email.

Occasionally, Melanie will rave or make a comment about product(s) or service(s) she endorses, and will include an affiliate link. Melanie only recommends and endorses products and/or services she would, or does use personally, and that she believes her readers will enjoy. All opinions and endorsements on The Bonus Space are 100% hers.

Melanie will evaluate to ensure the product(s) are content relevant, and provide value to The Bonus Space readership. Product Reviews

The Bonus Space does not participate in any paid product reviews. However, the site does promote content relevant brands, products, and services through sponsored posts. If you represent a company selling product(s) that are relevant to the content of this site, and would like to ship a complimentary item, or product, for Melanie to potentially review, or you’d like to partner on a sponsored post, please email Melanie directly. Prior to shipping any product, please inquire to see if Melanie is interested in your product, and would like to promote it on The Bonus Space. Note, shipping Melanie a product does not guarantee she will use it, or review the product on The Bonus Space.

Melanie only participates in sponsored posts for products she personally endorses, and would use for her own personal projects. Any review posted to The Bonus Space, will be an honest evaluation of your product. Melanie will provide a full disclosure for all product(s) mentioned, stating that said item(s) were complimentary, and/or the sponsored post is in accordance with federal regulatory guidelines. Media

If you upload images to the website, please note that you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to The Bonus Space can download and extract any location data from images with this format on the website.

If you wish to reach Melanie directly, please see the contact page for more information about preferred methods of contact and communication. Melanie does her best to respond to all emails. However, during times of high email volume, it may not be possible to answer all inquiries and submissions. If you have a DIY or design related question, please reference the contact page for more information. Irrelevant product pitches, and mass mailed press releases will likely go unanswered.
