The Bonus Cookbook

For those who are interested to see how I made these cheesy chive biscuits, here’s some bonus info and a few extra photos to help you out! Here’s what you’ll need to make this tasty snack:

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½-1 cup chives, chopped fine
  • 1 cup flour, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • optional Italian seasoning

Start by preheating your oven to 400F.

In a large bowl, beat the egg and add the milk and chives (and Italian seasoning if desired for taste).

Note: Unfortunately due to the pandemic, I wasn‘t able to find fresh chives at the grocery store so this batch was made without them.

In another large bowl, combine the sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk the dry ingredients together to combine.

Add the dry mixture into the egg and milk mixture, then mix all the ingredients together until well combined.

Fold the grated cheese into the wet dough until it’s evenly distributed.

Grease a large baking sheet, or cover one with parchment paper.  I like to use the reusable silicone baking tray liners.

Scoop a large teaspoonful of biscuit dough onto your greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

Bake the biscuits at 400F for 10-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

Cheers!
