Welcome to day 4 of The Bonus Space 7 days of Thanksgiving recipe countdown! This thanksgiving our house is going to start with these delicious cheesy chive puff biscuits and a tomato soup appetizer, as a spin on tomato soup and grilled cheese.

These cheesy biscuits remind me of the Red lobster cheddar biscuits (nom!). They’re light, fluffy, cheesy, and delicious!

You can whip these biscuits up in no time, making them a great after school or commercial break snack!

This recipe can be easily adjusted to match your specific tastes. Try them out using different kinds of grated cheese to switch things up!

Cheesy Chive Puff Biscuits Recipe

These cheesy chives biscuits remind me of the Red lobster cheddar biscuits. They’re light, fluffy, cheesy and delicious! Not only that, they’re fast and easy to make, and pair well with almost anything. You can whip them up in no time, making them a great after school or commercial break snack!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½-1 cup chives chopped fine
  • 1 cup flour sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup gruyere cheese grated
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese grated
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning *optional*

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400F.
  • In a large bowl, beat the egg and add the milk and chives (and Italian seasoning).
  • In another bowl, combine sifted flour, baking powder and salt, whisk dry ingredients together to combine.
  • Add dry mixture into egg and milk mixture and mix together to combine.
  • Fold grated cheese into wet dough until evenly distributed throughout.
  • Grease a large baking sheet, or cover with parchment paper.
  • Scoop large teaspoonful of biscuits dough onto greased baking tray about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake at 400F for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve Immediately and Enjoy!

The Bonus Cookbook

For those who are interested to see how I made these cheesy chive biscuits, here’s some bonus info and a few extra photos to help you out! Here’s what you’ll need to make this tasty snack:

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½-1 cup chives, chopped fine
  • 1 cup flour, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • optional Italian seasoning

Start by preheating your oven to 400F.

In a large bowl, beat the egg and add the milk and chives (and Italian seasoning if desired for taste).

Note: Unfortunately due to the pandemic, I wasn‘t able to find fresh chives at the grocery store so this batch was made without them.

In another large bowl, combine the sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk the dry ingredients together to combine.

Add the dry mixture into the egg and milk mixture, then mix all the ingredients together until well combined.

Fold the grated cheese into the wet dough until it’s evenly distributed.

Grease a large baking sheet, or cover one with parchment paper.  I like to use the reusable silicone baking tray liners.

Scoop a large teaspoonful of biscuit dough onto your greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

Bake the biscuits at 400F for 10-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serve immediately and enjoy!
